We appreciate your generosity and understand that you may have questions about how your donation supports families in crisis. Below, we’ve answered some of the most common questions to ensure you feel confident in your giving. Whether you're wondering about tax deductions, recurring donations, or where your contribution goes, we’re here to provide clarity.

What used items are accepted?

FCC generally accepts gently used, clean, seasonally appropriate clothing and shoes for women, men, and children.

Below are additional items we accept, gently used and based on current needs:

  • Suitcases & luggage
  • Purses and bags
  • Kitchenware (durable plate/bowl sets, toaster oven, air fryer, crock pot, etc.)
  • Baby items
  • Small household goods
  • Towels

Please reach out with any specific questions regarding gently used gifts.

 

What items are not accepted?

FCC is unable to accept the following items:

  • Used towels
  • Used sheets/ sheet sets
  • Furniture
  • Used car seats
  • Fine china/ thin flatware
  • Large household goods
Why do we need an appointment to donate?

Donation appointments ensure that staff are available to greet you and personally say thank you for this gift. Additionally, this allows us to connect and make sure the items you have in mind meet the current need of families and programs at FCC. With so many in need, we want to make sure we only accept gifts can be used effectively and efficiently.

Logistically, FCC operates with limited storage space and predicting incoming gifts allows our team to ensure adequate usage and storage.

What is the shipping address for new wish list gifts?

Amazon wish lists should be pre-loaded with our shipping address when you select "add to cart" from the list.

Does it have to be from Amazon?

No! Amazon wish lists were created for convenient inspiration and easy updating to ensure the most current program needs are reflected. We appreciate your time and gift of critical supplies to serve families.

Why do you ask for air fryers, crock pots, and etc.?

Many families who are able to start over in a new, safe home are starting from scratch or with very little. These household items will help them settle in and ensure the basic needs like food, bedding, and privacy are met.

Air fryers and crock pots are staples in many homes, though often seen as a luxury. For many families balancing work, kids, and the added stress of maintaining safety after fleeing violence having the gift of a crock pot or air fryer for convenient home cooked meals makes a huge difference.

I don't want anything for taxes, why do you want my information and the Fair Market Value (FMV)?

We are so grateful for your support, we would like to send you a thank you note with a personal message from staff. Sharing your contact information (address, name, email, or phone) are optional, and we will respect your choice should you decline to share.

The FMV amount is especially useful in understanding the estimated dollar amount of in-kind donations per year, which is used in funding reports, budget predictions, and other organizational documentation.
