Victim Advocacy

Services offered to any adult family member experiencing physical, emotional, or verbal abuse from a spouse or intimate partner.  To reach a Victim Advocate, call 410.285.4357.

Services include:

Support Groups
Weekly victim support group with peer support and an educational component.  Groups are facilitated by professional victim advocates.  For registration information, call 410.285.4357.

Victim individual Crisis Counseling
Short term, one on one crisis counseling for up to six weeks with an experienced trauma specialist.

Telephone Counseling
Phone based crisis counseling with an experienced trauma specialist.  Call 410.285.4357.

Contact with victims
whose abusers are in court ordered treatment at the Family Crisis Center.

Home Visits with Police Officer
During a home visit, the victim will receive legal and educational materials, as well as victim support group information.  Victim Advocates will conduct safety planning assessments and danger assessments.

Court Accompaniment
Victim Advocates accompany the victim to court for protective order hearings, walking the victims through the protective order process, answering questions, and giving individual support.

Safety Planning
Every individual that victim advocates have contact with receive a safety planning assessment and a danger assessment.  Click here to view the safety planning worksheet.
